Local St Ives information

St Ives is a market town situated just off the A14 between Huntingdon & Cambridge. Keeping up the status as a market town, the town centre holds a Friday market and a farmers market on the first Friday and third Saturday of every month. The town has a surprisingly active nightlife, with a number of bars for the local residents to enjoy.

St Ives is home to the Great Ouse River, which runs through the town and the St Ives medieval bridge, which lies across the Ouse, is famous for being one of only four bridges in Britain to incorporate a chapel. The bridge was also blown up during the English Civil War by the troops of Oliver Cromwell.

There is an indoor and outdoor recreation centre in the town, allowing residents to participate in a wealth of sporting activities; such as athletics, cricket, and football. The St Ives rowing club also makes use of the river and the local lake is a good source of activity for water sports.
